Charlie's Blackened Flounder

Ingredients 

  • 4-6 Flounder Filets
  • 1 Stick of Butter
  • 1 Lemon
  • DTBSpiceCo Blackened Spice

Directions

  • Pat each flounder filet "dry" with a paper towel
  • Generously apply DTBSpiceCo Blackening Spice to each piece of flounder
  • Lightly pat the DTBSpiceCo Blackening Spice into the fish
  • Allow the flounder filets to sit for approximately 30 minutes in the refrigerator
  • Heat a large skillet on high heat (cast iron -- if available)
  • Melt the butter in a rectangular dish
  • Dip each flounder filet in the butter to coat & place in the hot skillet
  • Once the edges begin turn to turn white-ish, then flip the filets
  • Sear for another 30 seconds to 1 minute
  • Remove fish from the skillet & squeeze lemon juice onto the flounder
